CCS811 (eCO2)

Meet CSS811, your ultimate air quality companion. This compact sensor detects and measures various volatile organic compounds (VOC) and equivalent CO2 (eCO2) levels in the environment.

The use of the I²C protocol makes the CCS811 easy to integrate into various systems and allows air quality data to be collected and processed in combination with other sensors or microcontrollers. Thanks to its small size and low power consumption, it is easy to integrate into any project.

By offering an external temperature and humidity via I2C to the CCS811, it is possible to make the measurement even more accurate. For example, the BME280 would be a perfect partner for the CCS811.

Useful to know:

The CSS811 uses the I2C protocol to communicate with the uC, the default address for this sensor is 0x5a. To help you get started quickly, we've written an example code [link github] for Arduino and created a YAML file for Home Assistant so you can get started right away!
